The Kenya Space Agency (KSA) is established as a State Corporation in the Ministry of Defence vide Legal Notice No. 22 of 7th
March 2017. The Mandate of the Agency is to promote, coordinate and regulate space related activities in the country.
The Kenya Space Agency notifies suitably qualified candidates on the following vacancies of employment on Three (3) year Contract.

DEPUTY DIRECTOR CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS
1. Job Purpose
The holder of the position will be responsible for overseeing the formulation and implementation of corporate communication policies and strategies in support of realization of
the Agency’s strategic objectives. He/She will also be responsible for planning and implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategies and other branding initiatives.
2. Remuneration
Salary Scale: Ksh 179,093 – Ksh 232,821 p.m.
House Allowance: Ksh 45,000 p.m.
Commuter Allowances: Ksh 12,000 p.m.
Leave: 30 days per year
Medical Cover: Comprehensive medical cover in accordance with
existing KSA HR Policy and Procedures Manual, and Terms and Conditions of Service.
Terms of Service: Three (3) year Contract; eligible for renewal for a further 3 years of service based on Satisfactory
Performance and Competence.
Probationary Period: The new appointee will serve an initial six-month probationary
period, and will only be confirmed in their substantive positions following satisfactory performance during the period.
3. Required Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, International Relations, International Business and any other related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, International Relations, International Business and any other related field.
- Professional qualification and membership from PRSK, CIPR, MSK or any other related field.
- Certificate of Completion of a Senior Management Course (or equivalent) lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Previous relevant work experience required
At least ten (10) years working experience in public and private sector, four (4) of which must have been in a management position.
4. Key Tasks/Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, implementation and review of corporate communication policies, strategies, plans and protocols.
- Guide the development, implementation and review of corporate communications strategy and plans in support of the Agency’s strategic objectives.
- Steer and coordinate implementation of the Agency’s corporate communications strategy.
- Oversee customer experience functions, including customer care services and conducting customer satisfaction surveys.
- Manage digital communication channels, including website content updates and official media communication coverage.
- Ensure compliance with access to information laws, promote stakeholder awareness, and report to relevant oversight bodies.
- Strengthen stakeholder engagement, media relations, and partnerships to support fair representation of the Agency.
- Implement departmental governance practices, including risk management, business continuity planning, and Business Process Re-engineering (BPR).
- Lead departmental planning and staff development, including strategic planning, budgeting, performance contracting, and staff mentoring.
- Manage and promote a positive corporate reputation and image of the Agency.
- Develop and implement Agency branding activities.
- Advise the Board on Corporate communication.
- Oversee the development of relevant Information, Education, Communication (IEC) materials in liaison with the Departments.
- Coordinate the Agency’s public functions, forums, media events, corporate events, public affairs and corporate social responsibility activities.
- Manage communication during crisis.
- Provide advisory and support to other directorates / departments / divisions / sections on development and implementation of communication programmes.
- Prepare official speeches for the Director General.
